THE CONGO
Those close to me know my Peace Corps village in the Democratic Republic of Congo had an amazing impact on my professional and personal life. It prompted me to become a journalist, a mother, and prompted me to create a digital platform that tells stories about women and girls in the developing world. So when I learned that Stanford was holding a 50th anniversary symposium last weekend, I volunteered to take some oral histories for the JFK Library in Washington, and to give my own.
